Workplace Injuries

Workplace injuries in Texas can be complicated by whether or not your employer has worker's compensation insurance. In Texas, if your company has workers comp insurance as provided by the state's system (what is referred to as a subscriber) then your sole remedy for a workplace injury is through filing a claim with their insurance. However, if there is some sort of third party involved, if the defendant company is a nonsubscriber (meaning they do not have workers comp) then there might be an avenue for recovery in your case in state or federal civil court.

Remember, many of these statutes are around two years, and because of delicate requirements surrounding a case's timetables and filing rules, it is important to consult with representation immediately when involved in a workplace accident.
